SAXOFOLK (2014)

On their debut album, the musicians of the Berlage Saxophone Quartet present classical compositions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries that were inspired by folk music. The selection consists mainly of arrangements of piano works, enriched by two arrangements of wind quintets and an original work for their own instruments. Proud dance rhythms alternate with melancholy tone pictures on this musical journey through Europe, from Spain to Norway and from France to Hungary.
