Are you our new board member?
30.10.2026
Thanks to multi-year funding for 2025–2028 from the Performing Arts Fund NL (Fonds Podiumkunsten), the Province of North Brabant and the City of ’s-Hertogenbosch, the quartet has a solid financial foundation. Our enthusiastic board currently consists of three members, and we are looking for a fourth.
In 2024, the quartet relocated its home base from Amsterdam to ’s-Hertogenbosch. We are now actively working to strengthen our connections with concert venues, theatres, musicians and other cultural institutions in the region.
We are ideally looking for a candidate with:
A passion for classical music and/or the performing arts.
A strong and up-to-date cultural network in the province of North Brabant.
A background at the intersection of business, sponsorship and philanthropy.
An interest in and knowledge of current developments in the performing arts.
The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a board team.
The Berlage Saxophone Quartet Foundation is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive organisation and endorses the Dutch Code of Diversity & Inclusion. We therefore warmly encourage applications from everyone who meets the profile.
Don't recognise yourself in all of the above, but feel enthusiastic about the opportunity? We would still love to hear from you!
Your responsibilities as a board member
Dedicate sufficient time and commitment to the role.
Attend board meetings, held three to four times a year.
Support the quartet's business manager.
Work alongside fellow board members to develop the foundation's long-term strategy.
Act as an ambassador for the quartet.
What we offer
As a board member, you will play an active role in supporting a unique ensemble within the classical music scene and become part of a passionate and knowledgeable board. The position also offers opportunities for personal development and the chance to expand your network within the music sector. Naturally, you will also be warmly welcomed at the quartet's concerts.
The board position is voluntary and unpaid. Board members are appointed for a four-year term, with the possibility of one reappointment for a further four years.
