Max Knigge selects Préludes and Images by Claude Debussy and arranges them for the distinctive combination of saxophone and string quartet.

The arrangements are complemented by interludes composed by Knigge himself, in which he makes use of the various instrumentations and timbral possibilities offered by the octet.

The poetic laser figures by Vladimir Grafov add a contemporary counterpoint with their sharp contours to Debussy’s impressionistic sound colors. In this way, the concert hall is transformed into an oasis of (sonic) color, movement, and light.
