De 'Rechtvaardigen' - with Cappella Amsterdam and Jan Brokken

In 'De rechtvaardigen', based on the book of the same name by master storyteller Jan Brokken, we - together with Cappella Amsterdam - bring to life the little-known, compelling story of Dutch consul Jan Zwartendijk. He risked his life for the freedom of others.

Through a narration by Jan Brokken, interwoven with music for choir and saxophone quartet, this through-composed concert reveals how the good deeds of a single individual can save thousands of lives.

“How a Dutch consul saved thousands of Jews…”
